Head of Human Resoures, Dukes Education
Emma has been Head of Human Resources at Dukes Education since September 2014, where she uses her years of experience in education training and recruitment for the benefit of the whole Group.
Emma started her career in Special Education, working with children with Autism, communication and behavioural difficulties. Gaining expertise, she ultimately taught in an independent special school for children with Autism. Through advising mainstream schools on provisions for children with special needs, Emma then moved into Education Recruitment, working to find the right staff at all levels for many different schools. This included international and SEN recruitment, together with managing temporary staffing at schools with high levels of staff turnover. Later she was appointed as Candidate Partnership Manager at Protocol Education, where she managed the delivery of Continuing Professional Development for all staff and gave training sessions on Team-Teach, Makaton, Communication Workshops and Autism Awareness, amongst other topics.
In Emma’s spare time she volunteers for a charity youth club for 16-25 year olds with learning difficulties. She values the benefits of education for all, from pupils to Headteachers – as do we.
